Early Days

Following graduation, Coffin went on to work at the 2D London-based facility Amblin. While there, he worked on We're Back! A Dinosaur's Story, which was executive-produced by Steven Spielberg. After his short career at Amblin, he went on to work as a freelance animator in the French CGI studio Ex Machina. He eventually began to work as an animator and animation supervisor for the company.

Pierre Coffin’s directorial debut was with the 1997’s Pings.
