Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek dies with cancer aged 80

Alex Trebek has hosted 8,200 episodes of the popular quiz show, making him one of the most well-known people on television in the US and Canada.

The pair married in 1990 and are parents to son Matthew, 30, and daughter Emily, 27

The show is now scheduled to tape three weeks’ worth of programs i.e. total of 15 episodes when “Jeopardy!” resumes production this week.
