Who is Alexa Chung?

Alexa Chung is one of the favorite British Television presenters. In addition, she is also a writer, model, and fashion designer.

Alexa Chung – Age, Parents, Siblings

Alexa Chung was born on 5 November 1983 in Privett, Hampshire, England. Her father is Phillip Chung, a graphic designer, and her mother Gillian Chung is a homemaker. Her mother is of British descent while her father is of Chinese descent.

She is not the only child of her parents and has 3 older siblings, older brothers Jamie Chung and Dominic Chung, and older sister Natalie Chung with whom she was raised.

Education, Ethnicity

Chung was educated at Perins School and later graduated from the same to join Peter Symonds College, Winchester. For her higher studies, she joined King's College London and studied English there.

Her ethnicity includes Chinese and English.

Alexa Chung – Boyfriend, Husband, Children, Divorce

Chung was in a live-in relationship with fashion photographer boyfriend David Titlow from 2003 to 2006. Alexa Chung was 20 years younger than David Titlow. She was also in a relationship with Faris Badwan (2006-2007) and James Righton (2007).

Then for 4 years from July 2007 to July 2011, she dated Alex Turner, the frontman of the band Arctic Monkeys. Despite the fact that they are no longer a couple, they revealed that they are still good friends.

Alexa Chung then moved on with Alexander Skarsgård in 2015. But after two years of dating, they announced their break up in 2017.

She started dating 23-year-old Orson Fry in April 2019 after being introduced through mutual friends. The couple has been pictured attending numerous events together. They split in 2022.

She is currently dating actor Tom Sturridge.

Chung has never been married and sans husband, and children. As she has never married, divorce is out of context.

Alexa Chung – Career

Modeling

Before Alexa Chung went to King's College London, she was spotted at the age of 16 by a talent scout and was signed into a modeling agency before she joined the college. 

Then she modeled for teen magazines Elle Girl and CosmoGIRL!. She even worked as a model for famous companies such as Sunsilk, Urban Outfitters, Fanta, Sony Ericsson, Tampax, etc.

As her taste in modeling grew, she was given an opportunity to appear in music videos. During her modeling career, she appeared in music videos for artists like Westlife, Delta Goodrem, The Streets, Holly Valance, and Reuben.

The year 2005 brought her an opportunity to star as Jake in the reality show Shoot Me. But after 4 years of modeling, she quit it to pursue a career in fashion journalism.

TV host

In April 2006, Chung was chosen to co-host Popworld along with Alex Zane. They also used to host Popworld Radio, a weekly radio show together. She then went on to present numerous shows such as Vanity Lair, Big Brother's Big Mouth, 8 out of 10 Cats, Gok's Fashion Fix, Frock Me, Get a Grip (2007), and The Wall (2008).

Then in April 2009, Alexa Chung left England for the US. There she presented It's On with Alexa Chung until December 2009. And by April 2010, she was back in the UK and resumed hosting. The same year in October, she was the presenter for Gonzo With Alexa Chung.

A Fashionista

After she resumed her modeling career, Chung became a regular model for Vogue, Elle, and Harper's Bazaar. She was so much desired for her fashion sense that Mulberry created a bag named after her!

Moreover, time and again she appeared in the 10 best-dressed lists.

Fashion line

Chung launched her own fashion label named Alexachung in the month of May 2016. Since then she has launched accessories, shoes, sleepwear as well as a clothing line.

Writer, Author

Chung is a writer too. From October 2007 to June 2008, she wrote a monthly column for Company, a British women’s magazine. After that from November 2008 to June 2009, she was the writer of a weekly newspaper column for The Independent. Her article was first titled Girl About Town and was later renamed New York Doll.

In 2009, she secured her job as a contributing editor of British Vogue and even interviewed top designers Karl Lagerfeld and Christopher Kane, and also wrote about Kate Upton.

On 5^th September 2013, she released her very first book IT. Her second book IT: Über Style was published in 2014.
