College career

In high school, Allie Long played varsity soccer for four years and helped her team go undefeated in the regular season. In her freshman year, she played in 25 games, starting in 22 games. 

While a junior at the University of North Carolina, Long appeared in all 24 games, starting in 22, while also playing with the Long Island Fury in the Women's Premier Soccer League.

Professional career

Allie Long was selected in the first round of the 2009 Women's Professional Soccer Draft by the Washington Freedom on January 16, 2009, and played for the team until 2010. After becoming a free agent in 2010, she signed with Sky Blue FC in November 2010 and played in the WPS.

She played for Paris Saint-Germain from 2011 to 2012, New York Fury in 2012, and Portland Thorns FC from 2013 to 2017. On January 11, 2018, Allie Long was traded to Reign FC. She also plays futsal.
