Amie Sikes is a reality TV host by profession and an American by nationality. She is best known for hosting HGTV’s show Junk Gypsies, That Junk Gypsy Life.

Amie Sikes was born in 1973 in Overton, Texas, USA, to her mother, Janie Sikes, and her father, Phillip Sikes. Her birth year is 1973. Her parents, who had opened Overton’s first pizza restaurant, raised her alongside her sibling, younger sister Jolie Sikes.

Following high school graduation, Amie Sikes went on to study at Texas A&M University. She graduated from the same institution in 1995 with a degree in agricultural journalism.

Early Days

Following college graduation, Sikes went on to work an 8 - 5 job in Austin, sporting business suits and matching pumps. Although she did fit in with her work environment, she quickly grew tired of it and longed to work freely. So she applied for law school. However, Amie Sikes left her job and stored her law school acceptance letter to start a new career and find a new way of life.

She moved back home, worked part-time at the family pizza restaurant, and slowly built what would one day become Junk Gypsy.

Rise to fame

Along with her sister, Amie Sikes traveled through America like gypsies, collecting roadside trinkets and treasures in which most would find little value. Their brand, Junk Gypsy Co., was created in 1998 to sell vintage flea market finds and is based in Round Top, Texas. They went on to launch the wildly successful Junk Gypsy brand.

The Sikes sisters were in the considerable spotlight when country singer and songwriter Miranda Lambert hired them to redesign her Airstream tour bus in 2010. They also designed Lambert's wedding vehicle for Blake Shelton in 2011. After their newfound success, Amie Sikes with her sister began hosting the HGTV show Junk Gypsies in 2012. The season also featured a redesign of Dierks Bentley's Airstream tour bus.
