Who is Anna Hutchison?

Anna Hutchison is an actress by profession and a New Zealand national. She is well known for appearing in Shortland Street, Power Rangers Jungle Fury as the Yellow Ranger, Go Girls, Spartacus: War of the Damned, and Anger Management.

Anna Hutchison’s birth took place on 8 February 1986 in Auckland, New Zealand. She is not the only child of her parents and has two siblings- a younger sister Miki Hutchison and an older brother Ben Hutchison. She grew up just outside Topeka, Kansas.

Although she often features her mother and father on social media, she has not revealed their names.

After graduation from high school, she went on to study at Kansas State University where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a concentration in Ceramics.

Anna Hutchison married her longtime boyfriend Mike Gillespie on November 25, 2018. They have been dating since February 2013. With her husband, she welcomed a child- a daughter Joanie Pearl Gillespie, born on August 12, 2019. They became parents for the second child after welcoming a son Vinny in November 2021.

Currently, the couple is living without rumors of extra-marital affairs and divorce.

Anna Hutchison – Career

Early Days

Hutchison began her career as an actress in 2002 with the main role of Delphi Greenlaw in the short-lived soap opera Shortland Street (2002-2004). This was followed by a guest role in the TV series Orange Roughies (2006), and the main role in Ride with the Devil (2007). Finally, in 2008 she was cast as Lily Chilman / Yellow Cheetah Ranger in the American series Power Rangers Jungle Fury (2008), which gained her wide recognition.

Films, TV Series

Over the years Anna Hutchison has been cast as the main character in the TV series Underbelly: A Tale of Two Cities (2009), Go Girls (2009-2012), Wild Boys (2011), Spartacus: War of the Damned (2013) as Laeta, and the recurring role of Sasha in Anger Management (2013-2014). 

She has also starred in the films The Cabin in the Woods (2012), Blinder (2013), Wrecker (2015), Encounter (2018), Robert the Bruce  (2019), and in the TV films Cup of Love (2016) and Lifetime’s Secrets at the Lake. In addition to acting, she is also a ceramic artist.
