Who is Anton Lesser?

Anton Lesser is an actor by profession and British by nationality. With a rich, aristocratic, and mellow voice, the actor is best known as Qyburn in the HBO series Game of Thrones, as Chief Superintendent Bright in Endeavour, as Thomas More in Wolf Hall, as Harold Macmillan in The Crown.

Before fame

While at the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) Lesser was an associate artist. There he played many of Shakespeare's roles in the productions of Troilus and Cressida, King Lear, The Tragedy of Julius Caesar, and Winter's Tale, to name a few.

He has also portrayed roles in films including The Missionary (1982), The Assam Garden (1985), FairyTale: A True Story (1997), Esther Kahn (2000), Charlotte Gray (2011), and Imagining Argentina (2003).
