Who is Anya Taylor-Joy?

Anya Taylor-Joy is an actress, model by profession, and British, Argentine, and American by nationality. She is well known for starring in films The Witch, Split, Glass, and The New Mutants.

Anya Taylor-Joy’s birth took place on April 16, 1996, in Miami, Florida, USA. She was born Anya Josephine Marie Taylor-Joy to her Afro-Spaniard mother Jennifer Marina Joy-Morancho, who worked in photography, and her Scottish-Argentine father Dennis Alan Taylor, an international banker. She is not the only child of her parents and has six siblings, among which she is the youngest, and four are from her father's earlier marriage. 

When Taylor-Joy was an infant, the family moved to Argentina. They lived there for the next 6 years, returning to London when Anya Taylor-Joy was 6 years old.

She was educated at Queen's Gate School in London.

Anya Taylor-Joy went on to date Malcolm McRae and marry him in a secret courthouse wedding in July 2022. She and her husband have yet to announce their pregnancy or childbirth. Also, there are no news of divorce surrounding the married pair.

Early Days

Anya Taylor-Joy was only 16 years old when she was spotted by Sarah Doukas of Storm Management outside  Harrods Department Store. Having signed and worked as a teen model, she eventually got into acting.

Her first role was in the 2014 film Vampire Academy as a feeder girl. But her scene was deleted. The same year, she appeared in an episode of Endeavour as Philippa Collins-Davidson. 

Finally, in 2015, Anya Taylor-Joy gained recognition with the role of Thomasin in the supernatural horror film The Witch.
