Who is Arian Nik?

Arian Nik is an actor and writer by profession, and British by nationality. He is well known for his work in the ITVX horror sitcom Count Abdulla, Still So Awkward, and in the films The Beekeeper and Allelujah.

Arian Nik’s birth took place on 4 November 1994, in Leeds, England, UK. His mother’s name is Shirley Aryaie, while the name of his biological father remains unknown. He has a sibling, an older brother named Yash Nik.

After his parents separated, he was raised by his single Iranian mother until the age of six. During this time, they stayed at a Women's Aid Hostel before getting a council flat in Meanwood.

His mother remarried to Hassan Ghassemi, making him his stepfather. Nik often features his stepfather and maternal grandfather on his social media pages, sharing that he would be nothing without them. It is unclear if he has any half-siblings or step-siblings.

Education, Ethnicity

For education, Arian Nik went to Roundhay Comprehensive School. After convincing his parents that he wanted to go to drama school instead of studying Broadcast Journalism, he attended Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts. Having been granted a full scholarship, he graduated from the same in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts in Acting.

His ethnicity is Iranian.

Arian Nik’s sexuality is gay. Meanwhile, he did confirm in a June 2023 interview with Bricks Magazine that he and his partner have been in a live-in relationship for nine years. He had maintained the identity of his partner a secret for a long time. Nik eventually revealed his boyfriend to be the co-founder of SSHH Ltd, Harley James.

As of now, he remains unmarried, sans husband or children. He has never been divorced.

Early Days

Arian Nik began his career as an actor in theatre. He performed in Remedial Remedies at Upstairs at The Gatehouse, The Ugly One at the Park Theatre, The Last Testament of Lillian Bilocca at Hull Truck Theatre, The Village at Theatre Royal Stratford East, Pufferfish for the 2019 VAULT Festival, and Cracked for the Arcola Theatre.

Having graduated from college, Nik was cast in a 2019 episode of Killing Eve as Jay. This was followed by roles in the TV series Ackley Bridge (2019), Van der Valk (2020), Doctors (2020), The Bay (2021), and the films Artemis Fowl (2020), Dating Amber (2020), among others.

Films, TV Series

Finally, in 2021, Arian Nik was cast as Josh in the TV series Still So Awkward as the recurring character Josh. He portrayed the character for a total of 12 episodes, which is considered his breakthrough role.

Over the years, he has starred in the films Allelujah (2022), Jungle (2023), Hamdardi (2023), The Beekeeper (2024), etc. He has also appeared in the episodes of the TV series Count Abdulla (2023) as Abdulla and Passenger (2024) as Nish Chowdry, Daddy Issues (2024) as Xander, and Missing You (2025) as Ashkan Chuback.
