Angel made his screen debut as a child actor in the 2008 film Jolene as Brad Jr. This was followed by roles in the TV series Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn (2016), Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders (2016), short films Hate from a Distance (2014), How do you do that Voodoo? (2015), and in the film Driven to Dance (2018), etc.
Finally, Asher Angel was cast as Billy Batson in the superhero film Shazam!, which was released in 2019. This role helped him to gain more mainstream work as an actor in Hollywood.
