Dillon began their career as an actor in the late 2000s- her debut screen role being in the 2009 short film My Popcorn Nights. This was followed by minor appearances in the films Hitting the Wall (2011), Marcus Garlard: A Necessary Option (2011), and in the TV series Younger (2015), Opus for All (2015), Master of None (2015), etc.

Finally, they were cast as recurring character Brandy Epps in the TV series Orange Is the New Black. She portrayed the character for a total of 19 episodes, from 2016 to 2017, and is considered her breakthrough role.
