Austin Butler whose real name/birth name is Austin Robert Butler was born on August 17, 1991, in Anaheim, California, U.S.A. His mother is Lori Anne Howell, an aesthetician, and his father is named David Butler.

He is not the only child of her parents and also has an older sister named Ashley Butler. The siblings had worked together on Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide.

Austin Butler was rumored to be in a relationship with actress Cody Kennedy. But the rumors were never addressed by either of them.

Austin Butler was in a relationship with actress Vanessa Hudgens. They had started dating in 2011. In December 2017, rumors circulated that he was engaged to girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens after she was seen with a ring on her finger. However, the rumors were put to rest when she clarified on Twitter that they were not engaged to be married. However, after more than 8 years of dating, the pair broke up in January 2020.

Just a month after breaking up Butler was rumored to be romantically involved with his Elvis costar Olivia DeJonge after he shared a picture of himself with DeJonge and Polly Bennett on Instagram. The pair were linked from January 2020 to November 2020.

Butler was briefly linked to Lily-Rose Depp in August 2021.

In December 2021, rumors sparked that he was dating model Kaia Gerber. They made their red carpet debut at the 2022 Met Gala. Gerber previously dated comedian Pete Davidson.

Austin Butler – Career

Early Days

Austin Butler's career in acting started when he was around the age of 13. Butler caught the attention of a representative from a background-acting management company at the Orange County Fair. The agent approached Butler and even helped him to get started as an actor. Butler then came to the realization that he loved acting. So, he started to take acting lessons.

By 2005, he had worked as an extra in several TV series but still did not have the big break he needed. He worked as a background actor for two seasons on Nickelodeon's Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide. A good friend of Austin Butler, Lindsey Shaw introduced him to her manager Pat Cutler. Cutler offered to represent him.

Then in May 2007, Butler landed a guest role as Derek Hanson in the Disney Channel series Hannah Montana. This offered him a greater stage and he was soon seen starring in iCarly (September 2007), Zoey 101 (February 2008), and Out of Jimmy's Head (March 2008).

Films, Series

Austin Butler gradually got into movies. In July 2009, he was cast in Aliens in the Attic alongside Ashley Tisdale, Carter Jenkins, Robert Hoffman, Kevin Nealon, and Doris Roberts. This was followed by roles in ABC’s Ruby & The Rockits, Life Unexpected (Feb 2010), Wizards Of Waverly Place, Jonas, CSI: Miami, The Defenders, and Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure (2011).

Finally, in 2011, he landed his breakthrough role- as Wilke in ABC’s series Switched at Birth. The same year Austin Butler portrayed Zack Garvey in The Bling Ring.

Besides acting Butler is also an amateur musician. He started playing guitar at 13 and piano at 16. He loves creating and writing music. Other hobbies of his are collecting guitar, playing basketball, hiking, cycling, and exercising in his home Gym.

In 2011, he was again nominated for Best Performance in a TV Series – Guest Starring Young Actor 18–21 in the Young Artist Awards for his role in The Defenders.
