Who is Ben Crompton?

Ben Crompton is an actor, comedian by profession, and British by nationality. He is best known for his roles in Man Stroke Woman, Ideal, and as "Dolorous" Eddison Tollett in Game of Thrones.

Ben Crompton’s birth took place on November 28, 1974, in Stockport, Greater Manchester, England. He was born Benjamin Lorton Crompton. Nothing is known about his parents, family, childhood, siblings, and education.

Before fame

Ben Crompton started his career in acting in 1996. A few years later, he landed a role in 1998’s film Les Misérables followed by roles in 102 Dalmatians, Blow Dry, and All or Nothing. 

In TV series, he landed minor roles in The Thin Blue Line (1996), Dalziel and Pascoe (1999), All the King's Men (1999), and North Square (2000), before landing his breakthrough role in 2001’s Clocking Off. He portrayed Barney Watson for a total of 19 episodes until 2003.

Films, Series

Since the breakthrough role, Ben Crompton has starred in the TV series Ideal (2005-2011), Man Stroke Woman (2005-2007), Housewife, 49 (2006), Pramface (2012-2014), C.B. Strike (2014-2018). In films, he has had appearances in Piccadilly Jim (2005), Nativity! (2009), Kill List (2011), and Peterloo (2018), among others.

In HBO’s hit series Game of Thrones, he has been portraying the role of Eddison Tollett from 2012-2017.

In addition to acting, Crompton also works as a Stand-up Comedian and was a member of Youth Unlimited Theatre Group.
