Brandon Clarke played college basketball for the San Jose State Spartans for a total of two seasons. His stats in freshman year were 10.1 points and 7.3 rebounds, while as a sophomore, Clarke averaged 17.3 points, 8.7 rebounds, 2.6 blocks, and 2.3 assists. After the season, he transferred to Gonzaga.

Brandon Clarke was selected by the Oklahoma City Thunder in the first round of the 2019 NBA draft with the 21st overall pick. On July 7, 2019, it was announced that he had been officially transferred to the Memphis Grizzlies.
Clarke made his NBA debut on October 23, 2019, and played against the Oklahoma City Thunder on December 19, 2019.
