Who is Candice Patton?

Candice Patton is an actress by profession and American by nationality. She is best known for portraying Iris West in The CW TV series The Flash and as Tori in The Game.

Candice Patton’s birth took place on June 24, 1985, in Jackson, Mississippi, USA. She was born Candice Kristina Patton to her African-American father, Paul Patton, and her Caucasian mother, Arianna Jackson. She is not the only child of her parents and has a sibling, a brother named Adrian Patton.

When Candice Patton was just 5 years old, her parents separated. After their parents divorced, her mother moved her and her brother to Plano, Texas, where they were raised.

Education, Ethnicity

After graduating from Plano East Senior High School, she went on to study at Southern Methodist University in Dallas. From there, she graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Theatre. 

Her ethnicity is African-American and Caucasian.

Although the actress has been in the entertainment business for years, Candice Patton has chosen to keep her personal life private. Not much is known about her previous boyfriends. 

However, in December 2019, Patton was accused of having an affair with married athlete J.R. Smith. She welcomed a child, a son, with Smith on September 27, 2024. Her partner, Smith, has been married to Jewel Harris since 2016.

As she has never been married, she is sans a husband, and divorce is out of context.

Candice Patton – Career

Early Career

Being born to a family of performers, she became interested in acting in her childhood. As a school student, Candice Patton performed as a cheerleader and focused on theatre. While studying at Southern Methodist University, she competed in CBS's Soap Star Screen Test.

Candice Patton went on to win the competition and landed a role in The Young and the Restless (2004-2005). This was followed by roles in TV series The Bold and the Beautiful (2007), Entourage (2009), Days of Our Lives (2008-2009), One Tree Hill (2010), etc.

Breakthrough

In 2013, Candice Patton landed a recurring role in The Game as Tori. The next year, she landed her breakthrough role in The Flash (2014) as Iris West, which she portrayed until 2023.

Since then, Patton has starred in films The Craigslist Killer (2011), Commander and Chief (2012), The Guest (2014), and on TV series The Game (2013-2014), Sorority Forever (2008), Con Man (2015), etc.
