Who is Catriona Gray?

Catriona Gray is a model, singer by profession, and Filipino, Australian by nationality. She was crowned Miss Universe 2018, making her the fourth Filipina to win the Miss Universe competition, and also held the title Miss Universe Philippines 2018 and Miss World Philippines 2016. 

Catriona Gray – Bio, Age, Parents, Siblings

Catriona Gray’s birth took place on 6 January 1994 in Cairns, Queensland, Australia. She was born Catriona Elisa Magnayon Gray to her Scottish father Ian Gray, and her Filipina mother Ragas Magnayon.

As Gray is a very private person, other details of her early life including that of her siblings, if she has any, have not been shared with the public.

Education, Ethnicity

For education, she attended Trinity Anglican School where she was a house captain, lead singer in the jazz band, and a school chorister. After Catriona Gray graduated there in 2011, she went on to attend Berklee College of Music, where she obtained a master’s Certificate in Music Theory.

Her ethnicity includes Scottish and Filipina.

Catriona Gray was in a relationship with her boyfriend Clint Bondad. The couple had been dating for six years before they broke up in February 2019.

She is currently in a relationship with Sam Milby. He is an actor, musician, and model. She is yet to marry, take a husband, or have children.

Beauty Pageants

Catriona Gray’s career in beauty pageants started at the age of 5 when she won Little Miss Philippines in Sydney in 1999. 

Having started to model right after high school, she went on to win Miss World Philippines 2016 on 2 October 2016. Gray went on to compete in the 2016 Miss World where she was placed in the Top 5.

Miss Universe

She once again competed at the Binibining Pilipinas 2018 pageant, making her the first Filipina to represent the country in both the Miss World and Miss Universe competitions. 

She represented the Philippines in the 2018 Miss Universe contest on 17 December 2018. Catriona Gray won the competition while doing a slow-motion walk, dubbed the “Lava Walk”, on the ramp which was praised by supermodels Tyra Banks and Ashley Graham.

On December 8, 2019, she is expected to crown her successor in Miss Universe 2019.

Gray is also a singer and released a single We're in This Together in 2018.
