Who is Cherry Seaborn?

Cherry Seaborn is an English college field hockey player and currently works as a senior consultant in risk advisory at the accounting firm Deloitte and Touche. She is well known as the girlfriend and now the wife of British singer Ed Sheeran.

Cherry Seaborn’s birth took place on May 6, 1992, in Suffolk, England. She was born to mother Ann Lancaster and father Matthew Seaborn, who played cricket and soccer at the former Oxford Polytechnic in Oxford, England.

She is not the only child of her parents and has a sibling, brother Charlie Seaborn, who played rugby at the College of St Hild and St Bede, Durham University.

For education she attended Thomas Mills High School and studied at Durham University, graduating in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular biology. She went on to study at Duke University and earned a Master of Management Studies.

Cherry Seaborn first met Ed Sheeran when both were in middle school and were friends through high school but did not start a romantic relationship. They parted ways - Cherry Seaborn moved to North Carolina to attend Duke University while Ed Sheeran dropped out of the school to pursue a professional music career.

Years later the two met through mutual friends in their hometown and started dating in July 2015. The couple has always loved their privacy and has tried to keep their personal life out of the prying eyes of the public.

Cherry Seaborn and Ed Sheeran announced their engagement on January 20, 2018, that they had gotten engaged in December 2017. Months later Sheeran was spotted with a prominent ring on his finger, starting the rumor that the couple had married.

After long speculation, Sheeran confirmed that he and Cherry Seaborn had married in December 2018 in front of about 40 friends and family. The wedding was held in Sheeran’s country estate in Suffolk.

With her husband, she has a daughter named Lyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran. They announced the birth in September 2020. The couple welcomed their second child, daughter Jupiter Seaborn Sheeran in July 2022.

Cherry Seaborn – Career

As a hockey player, Cherry Seaborn played for both Durham University and Duke University. With the Durham field hockey team, Seaborn had led her hockey team in the British University championship in 2012 and 2013. In 2009 she was named Female Young Player of the Year.

Her team earned a bronze medal at the 2012 European Championships in Holland. Cherry Seaborn also played for Saxon Tigers, Harleston Magpies Hockey Club, etc. With her club, she reached the 2007’s and 2008’s Under-18 national indoor finals.

She currently works as a senior consultant in risk advisory for the accounting company Deloitte & Touche LLP, and previously at Wall Street in New York.
