Chris Lane’s birth took place on November 9, 1984, in Kernersville, North Carolina, USA. He was born Christopher Eric Lane to his mother Donna Lane and his father Peter Lane. He is not the only child of his parents and has a sibling, a twin brother named Cory Lane.

For education, Chris Lane attended Glenn High School, where he played football and baseball. After graduation, he went on to play college baseball at the University of North Carolina.

Chris Lane got engaged to his longtime girlfriend, Lauren Bushnell, on June 16, 2019. The couple married on October 25, 2019. He and his wife have three children together- their older son, Dutton Lane, was born in June 2021, their younger son was born in October 2022, and their daughter, Logan Lane, was born in November 2025.

He and his wife have yet to share plans on having children and are in a blissful marriage without news of extra-marital affairs and divorce.

Before Fame

After sports injuries dwindled his chances of playing professional baseball, he learned to play guitar. He returned to his hometown and worked there in his father's landscaping business. 

The Lane brothers auditioned for the seventh season of American Idol but were not selected. In 2008, Chris Lane met Seth England of Big Loud Mountain management which launched his career. He was a member of the Chris Lane Band, and their album Let's Ride charted on Billboard Top Country Albums in 2012. His brother was the drummer of the band.

In 2013, he started his solo career, moving to Nashville. He was the opening act for The Band Perry, Eli Young Band, Lee Brice, Chris Young, Brantley Gilbert, etc. 

Chris Lane’s single Broken Windshield View was released on June 10, 2014, by Big Loud Mountain. It reached number 45 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. He then released EP Fix in November 2015, studio albums Girl Problems (2016), Laps Around the Sun (2018), and yet another EP, Take Back Home (2017).
