Who is Christina Chong?

Christina Chong is an actress and a British national. She is well known for starring in Monroe, Line of Duty, Halo: Nightfall, Black Mirror, Doctor Who, and 24: Live Another Day.

Christina Chong’s birth took place on 1 January 1983 in Enfield, London, England. She was born to a Chinese father and an English mother. Her parents raised her alongside her five siblings. After her parent’s divorce, she along with her mother, brother, and sisters moved to Longridge, also her mother’s hometown.

Education, Ethnicity

At the young age of 14, Christina Chong began her education at the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts in London. Following graduation five years later she landed a role in Elton John's musical Aida. However, due to an injury, her career in musical theater was cut short. So she trained at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York City for 18 months to focus on acting.

Early Days

After Chong returned to London, she had difficulties finding work as an actress and only landed small supporting roles and commercials. So to support herself she gave acting lessons at schools and also held a part-ownership of her father’s Chinese restaurant located in Harpenden. Her father also worked as a chef.

Her first roles were in the films Chemical Wedding (2008), Freakdog (2008), Legacy (2010), and in a 2011 episode of Doctor Who. Finally, in 2011, she was cast in the movies W.E. (2011) and Johnny English Reborn (2011), which gained her worldwide recognition.

She has also starred in the films Christmas Eve (2015), Of Kings and Prophets (2016), Tom and Jerry (2021), etc.
