Christine Ko is an actress by profession and American by nationality. She is well known for starring as Emma on The Great Indoors, Mandi on Upload, and Angela on Tigertail.

Christine Ko’s birth took place on August 3, 1988, in Chicago, Illinois, USA. She was born to her mother, Wen Chieh, and her father, Frankie Kao, a legendary Taiwanese entertainer. She is not the only child of her parents and has a sibling, brother Chaoen Ko. From her father’s marriage/relationships, she has four half-siblings.

She was raised in Atlanta and Taiwan by her aunt and uncle, whom she calls mom and dad. They adopted her at three years old.

For education, she went to Carlton J. Kell High School and later attended Georgia State University, graduating in 2010 with a BA in Communication and Media Studies. The name of her high school is not known. 

Her ethnicity is Chinese.

Christine Ko is currently dating fellow actor Ken Kirby. She and her boyfriend have been dating since November 2017, but eventually broke up.

She went on to date Alan Yang and married him on January 3, 2025. She is yet to welcome children with her husband. There has been no news of divorce surrounding the pair.

Early Days

Following college graduation, Christine Ko struggled to find work as an actress and worked as a waitress in L.A. for years. During this time, she had minor appearances on Hollywood Heights (2012), and Ballers (2015).

Finally, in 2016, Ko was cast as Emma in the TV series The Great Indoors. Her breakout role was originally written for a blond woman, but the producers changed their original idea of Emma's appearance after Ko’s audition.

Since then, she has starred in the movies The Jade Pendant (2017), Grandmother's Gold, Extracurricular Activities (2019), Tigertail (2020) as Angela, and Mabel (2024).

Christine Ko has the recurring role of Jessie Nomura in the TV series Hawaii Five-0 (2018), Dave (2020-present), and Upload (2020). Other guest appearances include in TV series Adam Ruins Everything (2017), Deception (2018), Stumptown (2020), and Dave (2020-2023). 

Moreover, Ko is the founder of Kaiio, a women's jewelry and accessories line.
