Having a great passion for music, he played bass with various bands in his youth. After university, he returned to Norway and worked as an audio engineer. This eventually led him to his career as a voice-over artist.
Rygh’s professional career as an actor began on the Norwegian stage and on television. He starred in two short films Ulfberht (2017) and Stranger Strings (2018) before being cast as Father in the 2018 Gothic fantasy film The Head Hunter, directed by US cult horror director Jordan Downey.
Having gained a reputation as the go-to actor for Scandinavian brawn as well as combat roles, he was cast as Dane Guard in the TV series The Last Kingdom in 2018. He portrayed the character for a total of two episodes.
