Who is Claudia Oshry?

Claudia Oshry is a controversial Instagram star by profession and American by nationality. She is well known by her Instagram name GirlWithNoJob where she re-posts pop culture-related comedic memes relating to everyday life.

Claudia Oshry’s birth took place on July 10, 1994, in New York, New York, United States. She was born to her mother Pamela Geller, political activist and commentator, and her father Michael Oshry. She is not the only child of her parents and has three siblings – sisters Jackie Oshry, Margo Oshry, and Olivia Oshry.

Education, Ethnicity

For education, she attended Ramaz School from 2008 to 2012. She then joined New York University in 2012, graduating in 2016 with a bachelor's degree in Media, Culture, and Communication. 

Her ethnicity is Ashkenazi-Jewish.

Oshry began dating fellow Instagram star Ben Soffer in 2016. After a year of the relationship, she married her boyfriend on 17 September 2017. She and her husband are yet to share the news of pregnancy or childbirth.

The couple is living happily without rumors of extra-marital affairs or divorce.

Before Fame

Before that, she had started Girl With No Job on Tumblr while studying at New York University. Some of her Tumblr posts were jokes about her co-workers, which led to her being fired. She worked at Camp Pocno Trails as a Camp Counselor in 2012 and interned in Necessary Clothing in 2013, Hearst Magazines in 2014, and AOL from January 2015 to March 2016.

While a student at New York University, Claudia Oshry interned at The Huffington Post from September 2014 to January 2015. Alongside she also created an Instagram account with the name GirlWithNoJob in 2014. There she began to post funny pictures, snapshots of stolen tweets, as well as re-posted cultural-based memes.

Within a year, her account had collected 60k followers. In July 2015 she was featured in Vogue’s list of 16 funniest Instagram accounts to follow.

Career takes off

And in May 2016 Claudia Oshry launched a mobile app named GirlWithNoJob, which was released on the iTunes store. In April 2017, Oshry began hosting The Morning Breath but she was fired from the show and the show itself was canceled in early 2018. Along with her sister Jackie Oshry, she is the host of Morning Toast.

As of June 2019, she has over 3 million followers on Instagram and has launched the Dirty Jeans Tour.

Claudia Oshry – Controversy, Sexual assault

Oshry’s mother Pamela Geller is a controversial figure, mostly for her anti-Islam sentiments. Due to this, the three sisters were dragged into their mother’s infamous views. Claudia Oshry had taken to social media to release a statement,

“'We want to be clear to our audience and fans that our political and cultural beliefs are not anti-Muslim or anti-anyone. Our views are separate from our mother's. Being raised by a single parent, we were taught to make our own choices based on our personal beliefs.”

Claudia Oshry’s 2012 tweets where she claimed President Barack Obama was "a Muslim" and in another tweet, she said “The reason you are still standing on the street corner looking for a cab is that it's a Muslim "holiday".”

Since then she has deleted her tweets and issued an apology on Instagram.

In June 2019, Claudia Oshkosh accused actor Cuba Gooding Jr. of sexually assaulting her when she was 16 years old. Gooding pleaded not guilty to sexual abuse charges.
