Who is Craig Button?

Craig Button is an ice hockey broadcast analyst and former National Hockey League (NHL) executive by profession and American by nationality. He is the son of Jack Button, a hockey executive.

Craig Button’s birth took place on January 3, 1963, in Rochester, New York, USA. He was born as Craig J. Button to his father Jack Button, a hockey executive, and his mother Bridget Button, a secretary to George "Punch" Imlach.

Button is not the only child of his parents and has a sibling. His brother Tod Button is the Calgary Flames’ director of scouting and was an assistant coach with the Washington Capitals.

For education, Craig Button attended Riverdale High School. After graduation in 1980, he enrolled at Concordia University. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Economics in 1987. His ethnicity is Caucasian.

Button married his longtime girlfriend Cara Button. Craig Button and his wife have two children- older daughter Chandler Button (born July 1993) and younger daughter Quinn Button. He is also a grandfather to Quinn's daughter.

Although the couple has not revealed much about their private lives, they seem to be happy together without rumors of extra-marital affairs or divorce.

Craig Button – Career

Craig Button began his career in 1988 with Minnesota North Stars, for which he worked for several years. From 1992 to 1998 he worked as the Director of Scouting for the Dallas Stars and as Director of Player Personnel from 1998–2000.

In 2000 Button joined Calgary Flames as the Vice President and General Manager until his contract expired in 2003. After his departure from Calgary Flames as National Hockey League (NHL) Executive, Craig Button joined Toronto Maple Leafs as a scout in 2004. He is currently an analyst and scout on TSN and The NHL.
