Who is Dave McCary?

Dave McCary is a writer and director by profession and American by nationality. He is a co-founder of the sketch comedy group, Good Neighbor, currently works for Saturday Night Live (SNL), and is engaged to be married to Oscar-winning actress Emma Stone.

Dave McCary – Bio, Age, Parents, Siblings

Dave McCary’s birth took place on July 2, 1985, in San Diego, California, USA. His mother's name is Diane  McCary and his father's name is Gary McCary. He is not the only child of his parents and has two siblings- sisters Molly McCary and Sarah McCary. The names of his brothers are not known.

After graduation from high school, Dave McCary went on to study at the University of Southern California. His ethnicity is Caucasian.

Dave McCary began dating actress Emma Stone in 2017. They had first met in 2016  while working in SNL where Stone was there to host an episode.

He and his girlfriend are known for their love of privacy and have been spotted in public appearances only a couple of times. On December 4, 2019, Dave McCary announced via Instagram that they were engaged to be married. The couple married in September 2020.

He and his wife welcomed daughter Louise Jean McCary in March 2021.

Apart from his romantic relationship with Stone, McCary’s previous relationship and girlfriends are not known to the public.

Dave McCary – Career

While attending the University of Southern California Dave McCary with his childhood friend Kyle Mooney. There they met Nick Rutherford, and Beck Bennett and went on to form a sketch comedy group, Good Neighbor. 

The group went on to find success after filming a Comedy Central pilot. Impressed by the group’s potential Saturday Night Live (SNL) had to work with Comedy Central to get them out of their contract so that they could join SNL.

Dave McCary joined SNL in 2013, for its thirty-ninth season as a segment director. He went on to direct numerous segments such as Miley Sex Tape, Mr. Senior, I Know, and Super Champions.

Aside from SNL and Good Neighbor Dave McCary directed the comedy-drama film Brigsby Bear in 2017.
