Who is David Bromstad?

David Bromstad is a designer, TV host by profession, and American by nationality. Since winning season 1 of HGTV's Design Star, he has been hosting Color Splash with David Bromstad, Color Splash Miami, Beach Flip, and My Lottery Dream Home.

David Bromstad’s birth took place on August 17, 1973, in Cokato, Minnesota, USA. She was born as David Reed Bromstad to mother Diane Marlys Bromstad and father Richard Harold David Bromstad.

He is not the only child of his parents and has three older siblings – older brothers Dean Richard Bromstad, Dynelle Renee Bromstad, and Dyonne Rachael Bromstad.

David Bromstad is gay by sexuality. He has been in a long-term relationship with his boyfriend Jeffrey Glasko since 2005. Having dated for several years, the couple separated instead of getting married. 

Following their breakup in 2015, he was also accused by ex-boyfriend Glasko of using their shared money for illicit means. David Bromstad came out clean and Jeffrey was discredited.

Currently, he is in a relationship with a mystery man, whom he introduced via Instagram in 2016. As he has never been married, divorce is out of context.

Early Career

Bromstad was always interested in art and design starting when he was in school, he decided to pursue a career in the same. After completing high school he went on to work as a Disney illustrator. While on leave from his job, he started his own company Bromstad Studio which designed fantasy bedrooms for children.

TV Series, Shows

Following advice from a friend David Bromstad moved to Miami Beach where he competed in HGTV's reality show Design Star. He went on to win the series and the grand prize- a car, and the chance to host his own show on HGTV. 

Since then he has been hosting-  Color Splash with David Bromstad, Color Splash Miami, Beach Flip, My Lottery Dream Home, etc.

Moreover, Bromstad has a line of home furniture and accessories titled David Bromstad LLC and served as a celebrity judge in seasons 3, 4, and 5 of Brother vs. Brother.
