Kennedy won The South County Song contest which catapulted him to stardom. Finally in early 2016, his single went viral by Spotify Discover Weekly. On the platform, he published his work for several years and that of his band, Shadows and Dust.
Dermot Kennedy has also performed in numerous festivals including Bonnaroo Music Festival, South by Southwest Festival, Austin City Limits Music Festival, Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.
