Elliott Tittensor began his career as a child actor. He made his screen debut in the TV series Shameless in 2004. He played the role of Carl Gallagher, the role which he took over for identical twin brother Luke Tittensor as he could no longer work due to scheduling conflicts. They portrayed the character until 2013, for a total of 109 episodes, and is considered his breakthrough role.

Over the years Tittensor has starred in the films Spike Island (2012), The Selfish Giant (2013), North v South (2015), Dunkirk (2017), etc., and in the TV movie Reg (2016). He also portrayed characters in the episodes of the TV series True Dare Kiss (2007), Moving On (2009), Chasing Shadows (2014), Silent Witness (2010-2021), House of the Dragon (2022) as Ser Erryk Cargyll, among others.
