Emma Portner is a professional dancer, choreographer, and Canadian national. She is well known as the wife of Elliot Page (formerly Ellen Page).

Emma Portner was born on November 26, 1994, in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Her mother is Heather Portner and her father is Han Portner. She is not the only child of her parents and has two siblings- older brother Dylan Portner and younger brother Quinn Portner.

Having loved dancing, she attended Canterbury High School. She had joined the school’s specialized arts program in their dance stream, graduating with honors. She also learned dance at The National Ballet of Canada during the summer. At the age of 17, she moved to New York City to train at The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. Portner also attended the University of Toronto.

Emma Portner identifies as a lesbian by sexuality. She married her longtime girlfriend Ellen Page on January 3, 2018. Page is an actor, who rose to fame with the 2007 film Juno. The couple had met after Page noticed her on Instagram.

Early Career
Portner began dancing when she was just three years old and danced competitively during her school days. In 2015 she was recognized after she choreographed and starred in the music video for Justin Bieber’s song Life is Worth Living. She also went on to choreograph dancers for Bieber's Purpose World Tour in 2016.
Credits
Emma Portner has been credited with the choreography for Jim Steinman's Bat Out of Hell The Musical, which premiered in 2017. In 2019 the young dancer was nominated for Arena Dance Competition's "Best Female Dancer" category and was also listed in PAPER Predictions; 100 People to Watch in 2019 by Paper Magazine.
Moreover, she has performed at prestigious venues including The Guggenheim Museum, Jacob's Pillow, the Oslo Opera House, and New York City Center. In addition, Portner is one of the very few dancers to have graced the covers of Dance Spirit and Dance Magazine. Her work has also been displayed by major brands including Apple, Netflix, Vogue, and Sony Pictures, and in professional Ballet.
Currently, she manages and directs her New York-based contemporary dance company and is on faculty at Broadway Dance Center, Peridance, and Intrigue Dance Convention. Emma Portner also reaches dance across North America and Europe.
