Hakeem Kae-Kazim was born on October 1, 1962, in Nigeria. His mother worked as an accountant while his father worked as an engineer. The names of his parents are not known. Also, there are no facts available on his siblings, if he has any.

Early Days
Hakeem Kae-Kazim fell in love with acting while participating in school plays and continued to hone his skills at The National Youth Theatre. After years of working in the theatre, he transitioned successfully to British television.
His beginning appearances were in the episode(s) of The District Nurse (1987), Screen One (1991), Love Hurts (1994), Trial & Retribution (1997), Canterbury Tales (2003), and in the films Global Effect (2002), Critical Assignment (2004).
Finally, his role in the 2004 film Hotel Rwanda as Georges Rutaganda is his breakthrough role. The film which went on to earn an Oscar nomination gained him international attention.

Over the years Hakeem Kae-Kazim has worked in dozens of films. Some are The Fourth Kind (2009), Man on Ground (2011), Half of a Yellow Sun (2013), Black Beauty (2020), Godzilla vs. Kong (2021), etc. Moreover, Kae-Kazim has starred in the TV series Lost (2006), Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (2007), Black Sails (2014-2015), Dynasty (2017), Love, Death & Robots (2019), to name a few.
