Harris Dickinson almost joined the Royal Marines after he dropped out of school. After his coach at RAW Academy convinced him to return to the theatre, he resumed his career as an actor. He began his career as an actor in 2013. His early roles were in the short films Who Cares (2013), Surface (2014), and Drop (2015) as a director as well as a writer.
This was followed by the role of Frankie in the 2017 film Beach Rats. The role earned him an Independent Spirit Award for Best Male Lead nomination and is considered his breakthrough role.
Over the years Harris Dickinson has worked in the films Postcards from London (2018), Matthias & Maxime (2019), Maleficent: Mistress of Evil (2019), The King's Man (2021), The Souvenir Part II, Triangle of Sadness. Moreover, Dickinson has also appeared in the episode(s) of the TV series Some Girls (2014), Clique (2017), and The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance (2019), and portrayed the main character J. Paul Getty III in Trust (2018).
