Gilby’s debut screen role was in a 2016 episode of the TV series Jericho as a village lad. This was followed by roles in the films Just Charlie (2017) as Charlie Lyndsay, Tolkien (2019) as young J.R.R. Tolkien, and in the short film Evie (2018) as Arlo.
Finally, he was cast as the recurring character Toby Williams in the TV series Casualty. He appeared in a total of 3 episodes in 2019, which jumpstarted his career into a prominent role.
