Hero Fiennes Tiffin was born in London, England on 6 November 1997. His full name is Hero Beauregard Faulkner Fiennes Tiffin. His mother Martha Fiennes is a director while his father George Tiffin is a cinematographer. Since his parents never married, he does not hyphenate his name.

Fiennes Tiffin has two siblings- an older brother Titan Nathaniel and a younger sister named Mercy Jini Willow. He also has other famous personalities in his Twisleton-Wykeham-Fiennes family. His uncles are Ralph Fiennes (who played Lord Voldemort in Harry Potter films) and Joseph Fiennes and his maternal grandparents were Mark Fiennes (photographer) and Jennifer Lash (novelist).

His following role was in the 2009 film Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince as 11-year-old Tom Riddle, the younger version of Lord Voldemort. He beat thousands of young actors auditioning for the role.

On the other hand, at least one publication alleged that his family connection had won him the part. His uncle  Ralph Fiennes played Voldemort in the films. Director David Yates said that Hero Fiennes Tiffin was cast as he had a "wonderful haunted quality that seemed to bring Tom Riddle alive on-screen for us" and the family resemblance was a "clincher".
