Ignacyo Matynia is a Polish-born American actor. He is well known for appearing in the TV shows Vida and Forever, and in the films Dietland, Luke Cage, and My Nightmare Landlord.

Ignacyo Matynia’s birth took place on May 29, 1992, in Busko Zdrój, Poland. With his mother, Doris Matynia, and father, whose identity is not revealed, he moved to the United States in 1995. After relocating several times, the family finally settled in Brooklyn, New York, where he was raised.

Following high school graduation, Ignacyo Matynia studied at the State University of New York Albany in 2010 and had set his mind on medical school. 

However, there he discovered his passion for acting. Just a few credits shy of his Bachelor's Degree, Matynia dropped out of college in 2013 to pursue a career in acting while working part-time as a DJ/MC/Dancer at Trio Productions. Meanwhile, he attended acting classes as well as workshops across Manhattan.

His ethnicity is Polish.

Early Days

In 2014, Matynia was discovered by Lee Strasberg's Sedly Bloomfield, who mentored him in the art of acting. He soon honed his skills in over 40 short films. Some films in which Ignacyo Matynia has had appearances include Scorned: Love Kills (2012), Dietland (2018), Marvel's Luke Cage (2016), Life Coach (2019), and Christmas Camp (2018).

Films, TV series

In 2015, he was cast as Young Teddy Graves on ABC’s Forever.

Finally, in December 2018, he was cast in the leading role in Randy Van Dyke's Feature Film Like Dogs, followed by a role in One and the Same (2019) and Lifetime Film My Nightmare Landlord (2020). In the latter, he played a charming landlord with an unhealthy obsession with a new tenant that goes too far. His recent role is in the Starz Television Show Vida.

Ignacyo Matynia has been credited for his role in the TV series A Good Cop (2021-2022), Alliance (2022).
