Jeri Ryan is an actress by profession and American by nationality. She is well known for starring in Seven of Nine, Star Trek: Voyager, Star Trek: Picard, Boston Public, and Bosch.

Jeri Ryan’s birth took place on February 22, 1968, in Munich, West Germany. She was born Jeri Lynn Zimmermann to her mother Sharon Zimmermann, a social worker, and her father Gerhard Florian "Jerry" Zimmermann, a master sergeant in the United States Army.
She is not the only child of her parents and has a sibling, a brother named Mark Zimmermann. Ryan grew up on Army posts in Kansas, Maryland, Hawaii, Georgia, and Texas. At the age of 11, the family settled in Paducah, Kentucky following her father’s retirement from the army.

For education she attended Lone Oak High School, graduating in 1986 as a National Merit Scholar. She went on to study at Northwestern University. Jeri Ryan graduated from the same in 1990 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre.

Ryan met Jack Ryan, a future Republican political candidate in 1990 at a charity event. The couple married on June 15, 1991, and welcomed their son Alex Ryan on August 15, 1994. The pair’s marriage ended in divorce on August 27, 1999. Jeri Ryan went on to date producer Brannon Braga a few years after her divorce.
She met and began to date French chef Christophe Émé at a chef's charity event in 2003. Soon the couple moved in together and married on June 16, 2007, in Loire Valley. With her husband, she has a daughter, Giséle Lynn Émé (born on 2nd March 2008).

Early Career
In 1989 Ryan competed in the Miss Illinois pageant. She went on to compete in the Miss America 1990 pageant. Jeri Ryan finished as 3rd runner-up while also winning a preliminary swimsuit competition.
After graduating from college she moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career as an actress. Her acting debut was in a 1991 episode of Who's the Boss?. Followed by guest roles in Melrose Place, Matlock, and The Sentinel.
In 1996 she was cast in the TV series Dark Skies as the extraterrestrial investigator Juliet Stuart. Although the series aired only aired in season 1, it was enough to launch Jeri Ryan’s career.

Since her breakthrough role in 1991, Jeri Ryan has starred in films The Last Man (2000), Disney's The Kid (2000), Down with Love (2003), Mortal Kombat: Rebirth (2010), Devil's Revenge (2019) and in TV films Flash III: Deadly Nightshade (1992), Pier 66 (1996), Dead Lines (2010), etc.
Over the years Ryan is also known for portraying characters in TV series Star Trek: Voyager (1997-2001), The Sentinel (1999), Boston Public (2001-2004), The O.C. (2005), Shark (2006-2008), Warehouse 13 (2011-2012), Body of Proof (2011-2013), Bosch (2016-2019), Star Trek: Picard (2020).
