Who is Jessica Mulroney?

Jessica Mulroney is a fashion stylist, and marketing consultant by profession, and Canadian by nationality. She used to work with Kleinfeld Bridal (Hudson's Bay) and the daughter-in-law of Canada’s 18th prime minister Brian Mulroney and his wife Mila Mulroney. She is also known for her friendship with the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle.

Jessica Mulroney was born on March 14, 1980, in Canada. Born as Jessica Brownstein, her mother is Veronica Brownstein (née Coleman) and her father is Stephen Brownstein. She was raised by her parents alongside her two siblings- brother John Brownstein, who is a Harvard professor, and sister Elizabeth Brownstein.

Jessica Mulroney is a happily married woman. She tied the knot with her longtime boyfriend Ben Mulroney on 30 October 2008 after years of dating. Ben is the son of former Prime Minister of Canada Brian Mulroney and his wife Mila Mulroney. 

She and her husband have three children together – twin sons Brian Gerald Alexander Mulroney and John Benedict Dimitri Mulroney (born August 12, 2010), and daughter Isabel “Ivy” Veronica Mulroney (born June 12, 2013). The couple seems to be very much happy together. Also, there are no rumors of divorce or extra-marital affairs surrounding them.

With her sister Elizabeth, Mulroney distributed the lingerie lines la Perla and Cosabell at the start of her career. She eventually began working in the fashion industry as a fashion stylist.

In 2014 Jessica Mulroney began working for the Hudson's Bay Company (Kleinfeld branch) as a bridal consultant. By the fall of 2018, she held the position of consulting, PR, social media, and events, as well as serving as the acting spokesperson for their CORE Life brand.

In November 2015 Mulroney styled ensembles for the Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau’s wife  Sophie Grégoire Trudeau. The same year she chose a wedding dress for her close friend Meghan Markle’s Suits character, Rachel Zane. Moreover, she has worked as a stylist for Shania Twain and styled Mindy Kaling in 2019 award shows.

On TV

In addition to her work in fashion, she has appeared on Breakfast Television Toronto and hosted the 2020 reality series I Do, Redo for CTV. She was a regular guest stylist for the Canadian talk show CityLine and in 2019 was signed with ABC as a style contributor.

With her sisters-in-law Caroline, Katy, and Vanessa Mulroney, Jessica Mulroney co-founded the charity The Shoebox Project for Shelters. The charity is determined to assist homeless/at-risk women. 

She is close friends with Meghan, Duchess of Sussex.

Jessica Mulroney – Controversy

Mulroney became a subject of controversy in June 2020 after a black brand marketer/lifestyle influencer from Toronto- Sasha Exeter posted a video on Instagram claiming Jessica Mulroney had bullied and threatened to sue her. According to Exeter, the threats were given after Mulroney took Exeter’s public call for social media influencers to use their platforms in support of black people as a personal attack.

As a result, Jessica Mulroney lost contracts with Hudson's Bay, ABC, Cityline, and CTV while her husband resigned from Etalk the same month. She also resigned from her position at The Shoebox Project for Shelters.
