Williams’ interest in performance arts began while still in high school. Her debut screen role was as Vida Atwood in the TV series Just for Kicks in 2006, in which she appeared in 13 episodes. She also performed at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in Los Angeles.

After joining The Daily Show in 2012, she became its senior correspondent, the youngest one to join the post. She worked on the show until 2016.
