For education, he attended The Bronx High School of Science, graduating in 1984. For further studies, Favreau enrolled at Queens College in 1984. But did not graduate, instead dropping out in 1987. Working odd jobs for Bear Stearns on Wall Street did not satisfy him. So, he went back to college.
This time again, Jon Favreau dropped out in 1988, as he was lacking a few credits to complete his degree. His ethnicity includes Italian, French, Canadian, German, and Ashkenazi Jewish.

Jon Favreau is married to an intelligent woman. His wife is Joya Tillem, a physician and the niece of lawyer/talk show host Len Tillem. The couple married on November 24, 2000. They have three children- two daughters and one son.

Acting
Jon Favreau moved to Chicago to pursue a career in comedy. They're working in some comedy theatres, he landed his debut role in Rudy (1993) alongside Sean Astin. The role was followed by small roles in PCU (1994) alongside Jeremy Piven.
Seeking further major roles and success, Favreau moved to Los Angeles.
He landed his breakthrough role in Swingers (1996). Numerous roles followed him including Very Bad Things (1998), Rocky Marciano (1999), Love & Sex (2000) with Famke Janssen, The Replacements (2000), Daredevil (2003), The Big Empty (2003), Something's Gotta Give (2003) alongside Diane Keaton and Jack Nicholson, The Break-Up, My Name Is Earl, among others.
He has also made appearances in Friends (1997), Tracey Takes On... (1996, 1997), Couples Retreat (2009), and worked in Cowboys & Aliens (2011), and Chef (2014).

Career as Director
Favreau made his directional debut with the crime comedy Made (2001). He found success with his second movie Elf, where he worked as a director. In 2006, he signed a contract to direct and exclusively produce Iron Man, while also playing the role of Happy Hogan.
The movie was a huge success. In Iron Man movies, Avengers: Endgame (2019) and in Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) Jon Favreau reprised his role as Hogan.
After being established as a director, he directed movies including- Zathura: A Space Adventure (2005), Iron Man 2 (2010), John Carter, Revolution, The Jungle Book (2016), and The Lion King (2019) while remaining as executive producer of The Avengers and Avengers: Infinity War (2018).
