Who is Jon Gosselin?

Jon Gosselin is a reality TV star by profession and American by nationality. He is well known for starring in Jon & Kate Plus 8 alongside his former wife Kate Gosselin and their eight children- twin daughters (Cara Gosselin, and Madelyn Gosselin) and sextuplet - sons Aaden Jonathan Gosselin, Collin Thomas Gosselin, Joel Kevin Gosselin, and daughters Alexis Faith Gosselin, Hannah Joy Gosselin, and Leah Hope Gosselin.

Jon Gosselin – Bio, Age, Parents, Siblings

Jon Gosselin’s birth took place on April 1, 1977, in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania, USA. He was born Jonathan Keith Gosselin to his father Thomas Gosselin, a pediatric dentist, and his mother Pamela Gosselin Castello.

He is not the only child of his parents and has two siblings – brothers Thomas Gosselin and Mark Gosselin.

For education he attended Wyomissing High School, graduating in 1995. 

His ethnicity includes French, Irish, and Korean.

Jon Gosselin – Girlfriend, Wife, Children, Divorce

Jon Gosselin met Kate Gosselin (nee Kreider) in October 1997 at a company picnic and soon started dating. After more than a year of dating, he married his longtime girlfriend on June 12, 1999. He and his wife welcomed their twin daughters Cara Nicole Gosselin and Madelyn Kate Gosselin on October 8, 2000.

But their wish to have another child was hindered when Kate was diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome. So the couple decided to pursue fertility treatment. On May 10, 2004, Kate gave birth to their 10-week premature sextuplets - sons Aaden Jonathan Gosselin, Collin Thomas Gosselin, Joel Kevin Gosselin, and daughters Alexis Faith Gosselin, Hannah Joy Gosselin, and Leah Hope Gosselin.

But Jon Gosselin and his wife hit rock bottom in their marriage and opted to divorce, which was finalized in December 2009. He was also required to sign a 10-year gag, which prevented him from speaking out about family issues and divorce.

The primary custody of all the children was awarded to Kate. But in April 2019 it was informed that their daughter Hannah’s custody had been handed over to Jon Gosselin. Also in December 2018, Collin’s custody was handed to him.

In December 2009, Jon Gosselin and his girlfriend Hailey Glassman announced their breakup. Glassman accused him of having an affair with Kate Major, a reporter for The Star tabloid. In January 2012, he began dating Liz Jannetta but broke up after two years of dating.

Since October 2014, Gosselin has been in a relationship with Colleen Conrad, a registered nurse.

Jon Gosselin – Career

After the birth of sextuplets, Jon Gosselin and the family received local media coverage. When the sextuplets were 17 months old, they were cast in Discovery Health’s reality series Home Delivery and later Surviving Sextuplets and Twins in 2005. A year later, in 2006, the family was cast in Sextuplets and Twins: One Year Later.

Eventually, TLC picked up the show titled Jon & Kate Plus 8 in 2007. But following their divorce in 2009, the show was canceled, after two seasons.

Since then Jon Gosselin has had several odd jobs including installing solar panels (February 2011). watering at two restaurants (September 2013) and was even promoted to become a maitre d' at one of the restaurants. Since January 2017, he has been working as a DJ as well as a prep cook at T.G.I. Friday's in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

On the other hand, Kate went on to star in the reality TV show Kate Plus 8 (the name was changed in November 2009), Kate Plus Date while also competing in Dancing with the Stars, and other several TV appearances.

He is also an author, having written a non-fictional book Multiple Blessings (2008) alongside Kate and Beth Carson.

Jon Gosselin – Controversy, Relationships

Over the years Jon Gosselin and Kate Gosselin have made headlines, mostly due to their explosive arguments. 

On August 22, 2017, the police were called to an orthodontist's office after they got into a dispute over the custody of one of their sextuplet daughters, which was later believed to have been Hannah Gosselin. No one was arrested and Jon Gosselin took a daughter of theirs home.

In August 2018 he informed via Instagram that Hannah was living with him permanently and had been granted custody of her in April 2018.

On October 24, 2018, Jon filed papers for physical and legal custody of their son Collin Gosselin. Kate had sent Collin to an institute in 2016 for his “special needs”, without his knowledge of Jon. After Collin reached out to Jon to “rescue” him from the institute, Jon filed the papers.

He was granted the sole physical and legal custody of Collin on December 4, 2018, after Kate and her attorney failed to appear in court. The same month Collin was released from the institute and returned home with Jon.

As of October 2019, Jon Gosselin does not have contact with most of his children, except for two of the sextuplets who live with him.

However, in mid-2020 Collin made shocking allegations against his father calling him a "liar". He also alleged that his father physically abused him.
