Who is Julia Fox?

Julia Fox is an actress by profession and American by nationality. She is well known for her breakout role in 2019’s film Uncut Gems.

Julia Fox’s birth took place in 1990 in Italy and was raised in Yorkville, Manhattan, USA. Her father Samuel Fox is American while her mother Ann Darwin is Italian. Her parents separated when she was young. Along with one of her siblings- a brother, she was raised by her single father, who is a seventh-generation New Yorker. Her other brother grew up in Italy with her mother.

Growing up in New York, she began clubbing at the age of 14. By the time she turned 18, she was part owner and investor in a nightclub. However, after a near-fatal overdose at 17, she left the night lifestyle.

She has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder.

Julia Fox married her longtime boyfriend Peter Artemiev after years of dating. Artemiev is a private pilot based out of Brighton Beach, Brooklyn. She and her husband welcomed their first child, a son in December 2020.

However, shortly after welcoming their child, they separated and eventually divorced, which was finalized in September 2022.

In January 2022, Fox began dating rapper Kanye West shortly after he had separated from his wife Kim Kardashian. She also briefly dated singer Drake in 2020.

Early Career

Before starting out as an actress, she worked as a photographer and model. Julia Fox has also worked as a director. She directed the short film Fantasy Girls, which is about a group of teenage girls living in Reno, Nevada. She is also an artist and founding designer at Franziska Fox.

In a 2019 interview with a Hollywood reporter, she revealed that she previously worked at a shoe store, ice cream shop, and pastry shop and later got into the sex industry, doing S&M stuff.

As an actress

Fox’s breakthrough came in 2019 with her role in the film Uncut Gems. In the film, she plays a feisty jewelry saleswoman named Julia who's sleeping with her gambling addict boss portrayed by actor Adam Sandler.

She beat 300 women for the role and although she had no previous acting experience, she was selected as she and Sandler had great chemistry during her screen test.
