Julian Dennison is an actor by profession, a New Zealander by nationality, and of Māori descent. He is best known for appearing in the films Hunt for the Wilderpeople, Deadpool 2, The Christmas Chronicles 2, and Godzilla vs. Kong.

Early Days
Dennison auditioned for a role in the film Shopping. He landed the role of Solomon in the film which was released in 2013. This was followed by the role of Kevin in the Australian film Paper Planes (2015). His next major work was in an advertisement for the NZ Transport Agency targeted to discourage people from driving under the influence of drugs. The public service announcement, which was directed by Taika Waititi, became an internet sensation in both New Zealand and Australia.
Waititi also cast Julian Dennison without the need to audition in his film Hunt for the Wilderpeople, released in 2016. The film was a massive success as it became New Zealand's highest-grossing film to date. This role is considered his breakthrough role.

Since then Dennison has starred in the films Deadpool 2 (2018) as Russell Collins / Firefist, The Christmas Chronicles 2 (2020) as the voice of Belsnickel, and Godzilla vs. Kong (2021). He has also appeared in an episode of the comedy series Funny Girls (2016) and voiced Pierce in the Australian animated TV series The Strange Chores (2019-present).
