Who is Justin Hakuta?

Justin Hakuta is an entrepreneur, executive by profession, and American by nationality. He is well known as the husband of Ali Wong, and the son of popular television personality and inventor Ken Hakuta.

Justin Hakuta’s birth took place on October 18, 1981, in Los Angeles, California. He was born to a Filipino mother Marilou Cantiller and a Japanese father Ken Hakuta, also known as Dr. Fad. 

He is not the only child of his parents and has two siblings- brothers Kenzo Hakuta, and Aki Hakuta.

Education, Ethnicity

For education, Justin Hakuta attended Sidwell Friends School. After graduation, he enrolled at Carnegie Mellon University and Harvard Business School from which he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts and an MBA respectively.  

His ethnicity includes Japanese and Filipino.

Justin Hakuta – Girlfriend, Wife, Children, Divorce

Justin Hakuta met Ali Wong, an actress, comedian, and writer at a mutual friend’s wedding in 2010. After dating for a couple of years, he married his girlfriend turned fiancée on 27 November 2014.

Hakuta and his wife have welcomed two children together, both daughters. Their first child Mari Hakuta was born in November 2015 and their second daughter Nikki Hakuta was born in December 2017.

The couple resides in Culver City, California, and is in a blissful marriage without rumors of extra-marital affairs and divorce.

Justin Hakuta – Career

Hakuta was a student showing academic excellence. For three years, Justin Hakuta served as the vice president of Young Alumni at Harvard Business School.

Hakuta has held several job titles in several companies in his short career span. He worked as a Research Analyst for the Center for Court Innovation followed by a job as a Sales & Marketing Associate for Honest Tea for a total of 2 years.

He also has worked for Seventh Generation, Patagonia, as a product manager at Cargomatic and GoodRx, as a product strategy & UX Lead at DIRECTV Digital Innovation Lab.

Later on, he co-founded Aviara where he worked as a product leader, managing a team of 10 contract designers and engineers. The team’s purpose was to launch and develop technology platforms.

Currently, he is an established entrepreneur and is the vice president of the multi-million dollar tech company GoodRx. It is a website and mobile app that collects data on prescription drug prices and also provides drug coupons to its users. 

He is also the founder of YogaStart, an online app for yoga.
