Before fame

Before his professional career, Kevin Pillar played baseball in college. In 2008, he was the fifth-highest average in the California Collegiate Athletic Association and was named to the All-CCAA 2nd team. In 2009, he again was named a 2nd-Team All-CCAA selection.

In the 2011 Major League Baseball draft, Pillar was drafted in the 32nd round by the Toronto Blue Jays. In 2011, he played for the Bluefield Blue Jays and later played for the Vancouver Canadians. He was soon promoted to Advanced-A Dunedin Blue Jays and later played for Salt River Rafters.

Played for

Kevin Pillar was promoted to the Double-A New Hampshire Fisher Cats. In 2013 he was called up to the Blue Jays on August 14, 2013. With the team, he played against Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees, and Houston Astros.

On January 12, 2018, he signed a one-year and $3.25 million contract with the Toronto Blue Jays. After a successful year with the team, defeating New York Yankees, he signed a one-year, $5.8 million contract with the Blue Jays in January 2019.

Pillar was traded to  San Francisco Giants on April 2, 2019.
