Suter began to hone his skill as an actor at the age of seven. After signing in his school’s final play, he started his career as an actor- having signed an acting contract. His early roles were in the plays Oxford Playhouse’s The Winterting, Arcola Theatre’s The Alchemist, Southwark Playhouse’s Romeo and Juliet.

The debut screen role of Leo Suter was in the 2012 short film In Passing, I Am. This was followed by roles in the TV series Bad Education (2013), Ransom (2017), in short films Round and Round the Garden (2013), Wight (2015), and in the films Maleficent (2014; uncredited), Fallen (2016). Finally, he was cast as Sir Edward Drummond in the TV series Victoria (2017). He portrayed the character for a total of 8 episodes.
