Liz Carr is an actress, comedian, broadcaster by profession, and British by nationality. The disability rights activist is well known for starring in the TV series Silent Witness as Clarissa Mullery, and The Witcher as Fenn.

Liz Carr’s birth took place on April 21, 1972, in Wirral, Cheshire, England, UK. Her mother’s name is Patricia Carr and her father’s name is Peter Carr. She is not the only child of his parents and has a sibling- a brother whose name is not known. She was born with arthrogryposis multiplex congenita, a congenital joint contracture with affects two or more areas of the body. Due to her condition, Liz Carr has used a wheelchair since she was seven years old.

For education, Liz Carr attended Upton Hall School FCJ and later Birkenhead High School. She also studied law at the University of Nottingham, graduating from the same. After volunteering in a law center, she went on to become a campaigner for civil rights for disabled people both in the UK and abroad.

Activist
Having been born with a physical disability herself, Carr has been serving as a disability rights campaigner in the UK for more than 20 years. She has also helped disabled people in the United States. In May 2008, she joined efforts with ADAPT to raise funds and to protest then-presidential candidate John McCain's refusal to support disabled people’s right to live in their own homes.
Moreover, in 2011 Liz Carr debated the topic of assisted suicide on the BBC show Newsnight and an appearance on BBC’s Terry Pratchett: Choosing to Die. Also, she deeply opposed Lord Falconer's Assisted Dying Bill.
As a comedian, she has worked with fellow comedians Chris McCausland, Steve Day, Tanyalee Davis, and Steve Best.

Carr uses her own condition as a sense of humor for her comedy skit. She has worked with many comedy groups such as Abnormally Funny People and was a runner-up in the 2007 Hackney Empire New Act of the Year competition.
Liz Carr has also worked with BBC on several projects. With Mat Fraser, she co-hosted Ouch! Podcast from 2006 to 2013, which was awarded BBC's Royal Television Society award. In 2011, she had the opportunity to work as a researcher for BBC’s Have I Got News for You.
