Who is Lucky Daye?

Lucky Daye is a singer and songwriter by profession and an American by nationality. He has released two EPs, I, II, and a debut album, Painted.

Lucky Daye’s birth took place on September 25, 1985, in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA. She was born David Debrandon Brown. He is not the only child of his parents and has four siblings- all of whom are brothers.

After his father left the family, he and his brothers were raised by his single mother. Growing up in a cult where secular music was forbidden, he taught himself melodies by turning children's books into his own songs. After his family left the cult when he was 8 years old, he immersed himself in classic R&B music.

Early Days

Lucky Daye was just 19 years old when he competed in season 4 of American Idol in 2005. But his journey was short-lived as he was eliminated after reaching the top 20. Over the next few years, he established himself as a songwriter and background vocalist.

Lucky Daye released his debut extended play titled I on November 9, 2018, followed by another EP II, on February 6, 2019. He also released his debut album, Painted, on May 24, 2019. Moreover, Daye has released numerous singles, including Buying Time and Fly.
