Who is Mackenzie Bezos?
Mackenzie Bezos is a novelist by profession and American by nationality. She is a billionaire and is the ex-wife of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and the mother of his four children.

Mackenzie Bezos’ birth took place on April 7, 1970, in San Francisco, California, USA. She was born as MacKenzie S. Tuttle to a financial planner father Jason Baker Tuttle and a homemaker mother named Holiday Robin (née Cuming). Growing up, she was a shy child and would often stay in her bedroom writing elaborate stories.

She was educated at Hotchkiss School, graduating in 1988. Mackenzie Bezos went on to study at Hotchkiss College but later transferred to Princeton University. Bezos graduated in 1992 with a bachelor's degree in English and the highest honors.
She had studied under writer Toni Morrison who had said Bezos was “one of the best students I've ever had in my creative writing classes." Her ethnicity is Caucasian.

Mackenzie Bezos, then 23 met Jeff Bezos, then 30 while working at D. E. Shaw & Co. In fact, Jeff Bezos was the first person who interviewed her.
After she asked him out to lunch, the pair soon began a relationship. After three months after their first date, they were engaged. She married her boyfriend turned fiancé in 1993, three months after the engagement.
Mackenzie Bezos and her husband have four children together- three sons and a daughter, adopted from China. The parents are very much private about their kids and have not revealed anything about them. However, the name of the son of Bezos is Preston Bezos (born March 2000).
On January 9, 2019, MacKenzie and Jeff Bezos released a joint statement via Twitter that they were getting a divorce. Their divorce was finalized on April 4, 2019, with Jeff Bezos keeping 75% of Amazon stock and MacKenzie getting $35.6 billion in Amazon stock.
On May 28, 2019, it was announced that she would be donating half of her $37 billion fortune to charity.
Mackenzie Scott went on to date and marry a science teacher Dan Jewett in March 2021 in California. Jewett taught at a Seattle private school where the Bezos children attended. However, this marriage ended in divorce just a year later after she filed for divorce in September 2022.

Bezos started writing at a young age and had written a 142-page chapter book at the age of 6 called The Book Worm. During college, she had several odd jobs.
She worked as a dishwasher, waitress, clothing salesperson, deli cashier, restaurant hostess, library monitor, data entry clerk, tutor, nanny, and finally as a research assistant to Toni Morrison.
Soon after graduating in 1992, Mackenzie Bezos worked for D. E. Shaw & Co. as an administrative assistant position. She took the job so that she could pay the bills while working on her novels.
After her marriage to Jeff Bezos, she supported her husband’s dreams to start a company and moved to Seattle in 1994. At the start of the business, she worked as one of Amazon's first accountants. Mackenzie Bezos also shipped some of their early orders and helped name the company.
After the brand began to find success, she stepped back to focus on writing. Her novel The Testing of Luther Albright was published in 2005 and Traps was published in 2013. For Bloomberg Businessweek, she wrote An Amazon.com Review, the review of the book The Everything Store: Jeff Bezos and the Age of Amazon by Brad Stone, giving it a one-star rating.

Mackenzie Bezos – Awards, Philanthropy
Bezos was awarded American Book Award for Outstanding Literary Achievement in 2006. With her (now ex) husband, she has supported gay rights and donated to research focused on cancer and neurological disorders.
In 2014, she founded Bystander Revolution, an anti-bullying organization, and is also its executive director. Jeff Bezos founded the Bezos Family Foundation and both are on the board of directors. The foundation focuses exclusively on education.
