Maggie Carey married her longtime boyfriend, Bill Hader, an actor, on May 28, 2006. They had first met through a mutual friend in Los Angeles, California.

She and her husband have three children together- daughters Hannah Kathryn (born October 6, 2009), Harper Hader (born July 28, 2012), and Hayley Clementine Hader (born November 15, 2014).

However, after 11 years of marriage, they separated in 2017, and Hader filed for divorce in December 2017. The divorce was finalized in March 2018.

She is currently single.

Maggie Carey – Career

Early Career

Along with Liz Cackowski, Maggie Carey started an online series called The Jeannie Tate Show in 2007. In those years, she performed at both Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in New York and Improv Olympics West in Los Angeles.

In addition to performing, Carey began to direct. One of her first works as a director was in four episodes of Funny or Die Presents in 2011. In 2013, she worked as a director and screenwriter in The To Do List, a low-budget sex comedy, which was released in 2013.

Since then Maggie Carey has worked as a writer, director, and/or producer for the episode(s) of numerous series including Sunnyside (2019), I Feel Bad (2018), Great News (2017), Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (2016–2019), Brooklyn Nine-Nine (2016–2019), Silicon Valley (2014), Never Have I Ever (2021-2022), You (2025), among others.
