Who is Maria Bartiromo?

Maria Bartiromo is a journalist, author, and magazine columnist by profession and American by nationality. The Emmy Award-winning journalist is well known for hosting Mornings with Maria, Maria Bartiromo's Wall Street, and Closing Bell.

Maria Bartiromo – Age, Parents, Siblings

Maria Bartiromo’s birth took place on September 11, 1967, in Brooklyn, New York City, New York, USA. She was born Maria Sara Bartiromo to her mother Josephine Bartiromo, who worked as the hostess seating guests, and her father Vincent Bartiromo, who owned Rex Manor restaurant in Brooklyn.

She is not the only child of her parents and has two older siblings- her sister is named Theresa Santoro while the name of her brother is not publicized.

For education, Maria Bartiromo attended Fontbonne Hall Academy. After graduating she went on to enroll at New York University. She graduated from the same with a Bachelor of Arts degree with majors in journalism and economics. 

They belong to the Italian-American ethnicity.

Maria Bartiromo – Boyfriend, Husband, Children

Maria Bartiromo married her longtime boyfriend Jonathan Steinberg on 13 June 1999. Steinberg is the son of financier Saul Steinberg and is the chief executive officer of WisdomTree Investments. She and her husband have no children together and live in Southampton, New York with their dog Dusty.

Currently, the couple is living a blissful marriage without rumors of divorce or extra-marital affairs.

Early Career

Bartiromo began her career while still a student at NYU, working as an intern at CNN. After completing her education she worked as an executive producer as well as assignment editor for CNN Business News. 

Although she worked at CNN for 5 years, she did not receive an on-screen. So she applied for an on-screen job at CNBC.

With CNBC, Fox

In 1993 Maria Bartiromo replaced analyst Roy Blumberg at CNBC. With the channel, she began hosting Market Watch and Squawk Box and was the first journalist to report live from the floor of the New York Stock Exchange. 

At CNBC, she also worked as an anchor and managing editor of On the Money with Maria Bartiromo, hosting The Business of Innovation, Closing Bell (2002–2013), Market Wrap (1998–2000), and Business Center (1997–1999). 

On November 18, 2013, it was announced that Maria Bartiromo would be joining Fox Business Network (FBN) after 20 years of working at CNBC. Currently, she hosts Mornings with Maria, Maria Bartiromo's Wall Street on FBN.

Bartiromo has also had appearances in films Risk/Reward, The Taking of Pelham 123 (2009), Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps (2010), Arbitrage (2012), and the documentary Inside Job (2010).

In addition, Maria Bartiromo is also an author and has three published books- Use the News: How to Separate the Noise from the Investment Nuggets and Make Money in Any Economy (2001), The 10 Laws of Enduring Success (2010), The Weekend That Changed Wall Street (2011).

Moreover, she has launched a line of children's products including toys, puzzles, and coloring books called Money Honey.
