Martin Starr is an actor, and comedian by profession, and American by nationality. He is best known for his role in Freaks and Geeks, Party Down, and Silicon Valley and in the films Knocked Up, Adventureland, and Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Martin Starr’s birth took place on July 30, 1982, in Santa Monica, California, USA. He was born Martin James Pflieger Schienle to his mother Jean St. James (née Pflieger), an actress, and his father James Schienle.

Before Fame
Martin Starr started his career in 1992 with the film Hero. He then starred in the TV series Freaks and Geeks in 1999. The series received positive reviews from critics but due to low ratings, it was canceled in 2000 after one season.
He did continue to land minor roles in films Stealing Harvard (2002), Who's Your Daddy? (2004), Kicking & Screaming (2005), and in the TV series Roswell (2001-2002), Revelations (2005), among others.

Worked in
Finally, in 2007, Martin Starr landed the role of Martin in the film Knocked Up. This gained him more recognition.
Since then he has portrayed roles in films The Incredible Hulk (2008), Paper Heart (2009), Save the Date (2012), This Is the End (2013), Veronica Mars (2014), Intruders (2015), as Mr. Harrington in Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017), and Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019).
More than in TV series, Martin Starr has had appearances in Party Down (2009-2010), Hawaii Five-0 (2010-2016), NTSF:SD:SUV:: (2011-2013), Burning Love (2013), Game of Thrones (2019). Among all his roles in TV series, he is best known as Bertram Gilfoyle in Silicon Valley.
