Who is Mason Ramsey?

Mason Ramsey, also known as Walmart Yodelling Boy, is a singer by profession and American by nationality. He gained fame after a video of him yodeling Hank Williams' Lovesick Blues in a Walmart store went viral.

Mason Ramsey’s birth took place on November 16, 2006, in Golconda, Illinois, USA. When he was only three weeks old, he was brought to his grandparents- Ernest M. Ramsey and Frances Ramsey to live with them. He also has a sibling, an older sister. 

His mother's name is Karen Ramsey and his father's name is John Ramsey. 

Having grown up listening to country music, he began taking guitar lessons at six years old. According to his grandfather, Mason Ramsey began singing even before he began talking.

Education, Ethnicity

As for education, he is still a student at school. In 2018 Walmart provided him with a scholarship worth $15,000 for his future college tuition. 

His ethnicity is Caucasian.

Viral Video

In March 2018, Mason Ramsey, then 11 was filmed Lovesick Blues in a Walmart store in Harrisburg, Illinois. The video went viral within a few days and became an internet meme. Due to his sudden fame, he made a guest appearance on Ellen DeGeneres Show and performed with DJ Whethan at the 2018 Coachella on April 13, 2018.

EP, Singles

In April 2018 Mason Ramsey signed a record deal with Atlantic Records and Big Loud. His debut EP, Famous, which was released in July 2018 reached number 7 on the top 10 of Billboard's Heatseekers Albums chart. Its single Famous reached number 62 on the US Billboard Hot 100. 

Ramsey released his second EP Twang on July 26, 2019, via the labels Atlantic and Big Loud.

Collaborations

In July 2019 Mason Ramsey worked with Lil Nas X, Billy Ray Cyrus, and Young Thug in the remix of the 2019 hit Old Town Road.
